Consultis, a premier Technical Solutions Provider and IT Staffing Firm with the single focus of pairing the right candidate with the right employment opportunity is currently searching for a Senior Programmer Analyst – Business Intelligence for a Direct Hire opportunity (FTE) with our client.

Position Overview:

The Sr Programmer Analyst uses data to create business value for finance, operations, marketing, HR, and other functions. Projects can be ad hoc analysis, automated processes, or dashboards. This position will support the creation and execution of intuitive dashboards and analytics reports, and gain exposure to predictive modeling methods and data science solutions. Assist business teams in problems solving with data, support data science, collaborate on models etc. This person must have a passion for learning, data, and problem solving.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Collect, process, and synthesize data through intuitive visualizations and statistical analyses.
• Create and maintain insightful automated dashboards and data visualizations to track key business metrics.
• Complete complex data analyses based on requirements.
• Manipulate, merge, and mine large and complex data sets (structured and unstructured) from diverse sources, to drive appropriate business actions.
• Projects may include: supporting business users who use existing BI reports, creating data sources and reports for new data projects, analyzing legacy code to determine how to re-write it for better performance or against an alternate data structure, reviewing an existing report to update it to use a new reporting framework, etc.
• Consistently enhance skills and job knowledge by researching new technologies, software products, analytical methods and trends.
• Work closely with key stakeholders and other project team members to understand and prioritize functional requirements and information needs. Participate in the development of functional requirements and design specifications as appropriate.
• Envision potential future requirements and business needs to ensure solutions are flexible and extensible.
• Provide development and technical expertise to ensure business intelligence solutions (applications) function according to business and technical requirements. 
• Ensure that all solutions, technical configurations and other work products are thoroughly tested prior to delivery; participate in system/integration testing, QA, and peer reviews as needed.
• Adhere to Darden Software Development Lifecycle Methodologies and technology architecture standards.
• Contribute to architecture design principles and data standards as appropriate.
• Proactively identify and communicate potential problems and issues to project team members/leaders, identifying alternatives and recommending/implementing solutions as appropriate after approval.
• Ensure accurate project status and work estimates (ETCs) are always reported /communicated to project leaders/managers in a timely fashion.
• Effectively communicate with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.  Ensure issues are analyzed, discussed and resolved in a timely manner.  
• Work closely with the end-user community in an internal customer support role, answering procedural and data questions, assisting users with report development and use of BI tools, and working with developers to trouble-shoot and support production systems.  May include leading small projects and investigating and resolving complex issues.
• Train functional users in use of BI reporting and visualization tools as needed to effectively leverage the data warehouse and business intelligence platform.
• Troubleshoot complex data and performance issues, tracking to root cause and providing or advising on timely solutions.

Required Qualification or Skills:

• 5+ years of programming/analysis experience
  
  5+ years of experience across Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse/Data Lake projects in a large global organization
• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience with visualization tools (MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau …etc.)
• 5+ years’ of experience in SQL programming, with ability to develop complex queries against large disparate data sets
• Strong understanding of reporting and data warehouse architectures
• Experience with Cloud Data Warehouse products such as Snowflake or Azure Synapse
• Experience with large database systems (Oracle preferred)
• Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and serve a variety of stakeholders with different priorities.
• Highly developed analytical, problem solving, with strong ability to quickly learn and comprehend business processes and problems in order to effectively develop technical solutions.
• Expertise in working with spreadsheets, Strong understanding of financial concepts and data.
• Demonstrated competency in designing, developing and testing complex applications or components.
• Demonstrated competency in accurately identifying the scope of work and detailed schedule estimates
• Bachelor’s degree in IT related discipline or equivalent experience (BS / BA in MIS, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics or Engineering)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and follow through to implementation/resolution.
• Resolve end user reporting problems through collaboration with both technical and functional personnel in a team environment.
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
• Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
• Exposure to R, Spark SQL and Python highly desired
• Exposure to Web and Mobile analytics.
• Knowledge of restaurant or retail business
• Understanding of and application performance tuning.
